Become a Volunteer with Shropshire Supports Refugees

Shropshire Supports Refugees has more people looking to it for support now than ever before.  You could be part of our teams of volunteers that what makes all the difference to people  rebuilding their life having fled persecution or armed conflict. 

We aim to facilitate as many offers of volunteer support as possible,

including but not exclusively:

ESOL
Befriending
Interpreting and Translation 
Tutor of school age children 
Fund raising
Other Services, such as counselling and youth work
Coordinating, collecting and sorting donated items
Local area orientation 
Social Media

We are looking for people to help us with translation for  families arriving from Afghanistan and to help them to settle into Shropshire.

We are looking for people to help us with translation for  families arriving from Ukraine and to help them to settle into Shropshire.

Simple Acts

We are also inviting everyone to do one or more of the Simple Acts.

These can all done at home, inspired by the theme Healing

Simple Acts are everyday actions we can all do to stand with refugees and make new connections in our communities.

For Refugee Week 2023 (19th-26th June) we invite you to do one or more of the eight Simple Acts below, inspired by 2022s theme ‘Healing’. Illustrations by Karin Åkesson

You can photograph you simple act and share on social media with the hashtags
